Project Planner Sector: Data Centre / Construction The Role Requirements What’s on Offer This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Project Planners to take responsibility for programme management on one of Europe’s largest and most high-profile data centre projects.
Our client is a leading multi-disciplined main contractor operating across the UK and Europe with a turnover of €750m and sustained annual growth of 5–7.5%. They deliver large-scale, turnkey projects for blue-chip clients, with a strong focus on data centres and mission-critical facilities.
Following a recent major project win, our client is seeking Project Planners to join the team on a mega data centre project in Portugal. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of one of Europe’s largest data centres by developing, monitoring, and managing project schedules across multiple packages.
Reporting to the Project Controls / Project Manager, the Project Planner will be responsible for planning, monitoring, and reporting on all aspects of the project programme. Key responsibilities include:
• Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent tools
• Coordinate programme input from multiple disciplines including civil, MEP, architectural, and commissioning teams
• Monitor progress, identify delays, and highlight risks and opportunities to senior management
• Provide resource and critical path analysis to support decision-making and optimise construction sequencing
• Produce reports and dashboards for project management, clients, and senior leadership
• Liaise with project teams to ensure schedule adherence and support recovery planning when required
• Support commercial teams with progress tracking, milestone achievement, and contractual reporting
• Ensure compliance with company planning procedures, project standards, and best practices
• Degree-qualified in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline
• Proven experience as a Project Planner / Project Controls Engineer on large-scale construction projects, ideally in data centres, industrial, or high-tech facilities
• Proficiency with planning tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project
• Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, resource planning, and risk management
• Excellent analytical, organisational, and reporting skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Fluency in English; additional European languages (Portuguese) advantageous
